Does anyone know whether you can recode the C7 to not show that it has been modified? Anyone know the details or this is something stored in VW/Audi database?

Also if I'm purchasing a vehicle with warranty would the dealership be able to tell me if a car has been modified by VIN?

    TIA!

Are you talking about like a performance tune or just like system modifications like the getting rid of the LED wink with the signals?

Vag-com won't be able to hide any tune info. Any modifications with vag-com shouldn't affect any warranty. For the most part vag-com only changes features that the car has on it. If you are tuned you can go back to whoever tuned it and have them return it to stock. However the dealer can probably tell if the ecu has been altered if they are willing to dig deep enough . Some will tell you that it is undetectable if you go back to stock but I'm not so sure.

Sorry guys that was a terrible OP,

I guess I'm asking the same questions this thread kind of mentions:
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=688292

Dealerships will flag cars with tunes or aftermarket parts. I was more concerned with the tune especially if I want an upgraded pulley. I basically answered my own question. Smh

I'm trying to snag a CPOd C7 but the first thing I'm doing is getting a tune with a pulley upgrade and maybe a cat back exhaust so my concern was whether I should risk paying more for a CPO or just find one used non CPO save a few bucks and used that towards my mods.

What about just having a spare stock ECU? They cost about $1000. Can you just switch out your tuned ECU for a stock one? Back when I had my B5 S4, I had 3 ECUs. I would swap them out quite easily, although probably a lot has changed since then.
