2/5/16 - took delivery of the car. 2013 Allroad, Premium Plus, Monsoon Grey
2/10/16 - delivery of ST Coilovers, model #90618
2/11/16 - delivery of Vorsteiner VFF-103 in Mercury Silver. 20x10 et+30
2/12/16 - delivery of RossTech VAG-com cable (I should've had one years ago!) Did the usual vag mods, used this for reference:
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ft-2013-B8-5-s
2/14/16 - Spent some of Cupid day giving in to the mod bug. Did the J-Code mod and yellow Lamin-X for the fogs. I ended up rattle canning the reflectors...I think it matches the car well! I actually took this picture just now (2/18/16) - it rained like a mofo last night and no condensation/fogging of the headlights! Phew. I used VAG-COM to disable the LEDs that are now covered up.
DIYs I followed were the first bit of this one to remove the headlights from B8.5: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...dlight-install
Then most of this for the dirty work: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ont-reflectors
This thread shows the bracket that the amber is attached to on the post-facelift models: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ector-Thoughts
2/18/16 - delivery of Hotchkis Sway Bars. Model #22836
2/20/16 - installed the sway bars. The fronts were a piece of cake and took about 30 minutes - since the Hotchkis kit relocates the mounting position of the front sway bar the belly pan may be a bitch to put back on. I ended up leaving two screws off that are directly under the sway. The rears were a royal PITA because there's almost zero clearance around the bolts. I had to drop the exhaust to get enough space to wiggle the OEM sway bar out and remove each wheel to properly torque down the bolts. I'd recommend doing this before lowering the car if you can help it since the bolts will end up being impossible to access from under the car...not to mention limited space for yourself under there. I followed this DIY: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...review-and-DIY
Performance wise, these are fantastic! I have the fronts on the 45% stiffer setting and it felt like going from steering a rubber band to steering a go kart. Even on the OEM suspension these made a huge difference.
2/26/16 - felt motivated to take on the coilover install by my lonesome. It definitely would've been easier with two people, but I paced myself and got it done over two (late) evenings. My initial drop was too low and got some major clunking in the front and back. I raised everything about and inch and repositioned the sway bars and that cured it. DIY I followed was: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4331031
3/1/16 - Vorsteiners mounted up!
3/4/16 - LED reverse bulbs and MRR black security wheel bolts installed. I feel like the new black bolts tie the look of the wheel together nicely, especially with the black center cap.

3/4/16 - official no-plate front grille and DSG pedals installed.
3/16/16 - black roof. Got it done at Vinyl Styles in San Carlos (for the local guys).
3/17/16 - dialed in the ride height. 25 7/8" FTG all around with a full tank of gas and me in the drivers seat (not represented by any pics above)
3/25/16 - UR upper strut mount arrived and installed. I THINK this does something, or it could just be a placebo.
4/8/16 - ECS Luft-Technik intake installed and painted the UR upper strut brace.
4/26/16 - S-tronic shift knob and black boot with metallic stitching. Thanks Alex and Europrice!
4/30/16 - S-line FBSW and Magnaflow exhaust installed! With all of my suspension mods, paired with the new growl from the exhaust and FBSW, the driving experience and been completely elevated.
5/14/16 - 034 Motorsports high flow cat installed. Old vs new:
5/16/16 - Gearing up to install the CTS downpipe.
5/17/16 - And fail.
5/19/16 - Went APR Stage 2!
5/23/16 - Stage 2 supporting mods. R8 coil packs and NGK BKR7E spark plugs gapped at .028".
5/25/16 - All of that before my first oil change
And gotta love Vag Com. Changed my oil change interval reminder to 5k.
7/4/16 - Finally bagged! Details on post #83
8/30/16 - Finally got around to installing a subwoofer after removing my OEM one. This is the JL PowerWedge 10" - tons of output in a small footprint. Since this sub is powered and has "high voltage" speaker-level inputs, integration into the system was super easy since I could just use my existing subwoofer speaker wires to send signal direct to the JL and keep all my OEM functionality in the MMI.
9/19/16 - Installed Runstreet LED fog light bulbs. Ordered from Aliexpress. Click here!
10/25/16 - EuroPrice semi-dynamic turn signals installed. Thanks Alex!
1/11/17 - CR-15 installed, this thing actually works as opposed to the UR upper brace. Upon my spirited test drive around my local freeway on/off ramps I could instantly tell there was less flex and zero creaking when taking the turns hard like I had before. By itself I doubt the difference would be night and day like new sways were, but the CR15 definitely compliments them.
4/29/17 - Red start/stop button:
Bought it from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201774826140...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I used only the first two steps of this DIY:
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/s4-...nsole-2795900/
Once the center trim is up you can just push the old button out from behind.
5/1/17 - Chopped out the solid backing from fins of the fog light covers. Special thanks to Slow_Poke25mph for the motivation. I took his DIY a step further and sanded all the edges to blend the part that I cut into the existing fin - took forever and I'm pretty sure I have the black lung now. Zapped it with some black trim touch up paint from Autozone and now looks totally OEM.
5/5/17 - Installed the Milltek non-res downpipe from the group buy. Unlike this CTS DP, this fit perfectly. The Allroads seem to have a larger bracket for the transmission but the Milltek was able to clear it by about 1mm when cold. With the exhaust warmed up there's about 5mm clearance. This added the much needed growl and volume I was missing, it actually sounds like I drive a tuned car now, not to mention tunnels are fun again
6/9/17 - Replaced my ash tray with this integrated mount from RTA Fabrication for my Air Lift controller. Used the same DIY as the red start/stop button.
10/1/17 - CTS K04 installed
10/3/17 - Integrated Engineering FDS intercooler installed
10/3/17 - CTS catch can installed. Amazing quality!
