Hey I have this a6 2.7t quattro sline... So far I really like the car. 200 a month in maintenance scares me tho. So far I know I need to replace CV boots, address the oil leak (valve cover), and replace the whole spare wheel tire set up.

I've heard of boost leaks, and oil leaks at the turbos. And how they are a bad sign. How can I determine if I have a boost leak?

You could do all of those things yourself if you wanted, the cv boots are messy but easy.

You can make a leak tester using an air compressor, pvc cap, air fitting, hose and hose fittings. it clamps on at the beginning of your y pipe and pressurizes the system, listen for leaks. You can also do a smoke test. I'm sure there are already some diy's in here if you look for them.

So the gadget described in the PDF is all I'll need to test for all possible boost leaks?
