New (larger) jack, need new jack points

I'm used to lifting my car on the pinch welds by the front and rear tires but recently picked up a larger floor jack and can't fit the jack and the jack stands on the pinch welds. What are some good alternative places to lift the car with the jack?

Buy another jack, hockey pucks. If the lifting jack doesn't fit under the pinch welds, first raise it up a little with the oem screw type jack. Use two jacks to lift up the front of the car using the hockey pucks on the pinch welds (you can cut a groove so it fits the pinch welds). I lift until I can fit some jack stands under the subframe mounts.

The jack fits but not the jack and the jackstand together. I searched for threads on this but couldn't find much other than using the pinch welds.

I use the sub frame to lift it and then jack stands at the pinch welds. This only works if you use a low profile jack from the front.

Just buy a damn RS4 jack pad kit and you'll never have to worry about damaged pinch welds, ever...

I know what you're talking about. I just use a hockey puck on my floor jack and jack the car up from behind the pinch welds. Once it's high enough I put my jack stand on the pinch welds. Probably not the best method but I haven't had any problems yet

There is a dude on ebay selling VW Audi urethane "pucks" so you dont crush the pinch welds. I bought one for the B7 and another for the TTS (uses the R8 style roller seat) I'm not going to post the link because lazy and also not affiliated, but It worked just fine. Slightly taller than needs to be but was good for under 20 bucks and can prob be used on many cars with similar jack points. I dont like using any other spot to lift due to the side skirts. I tend to leave the car on the jack and place the stands under subframe points sometimes the other way around.

I put the floor Jack on the little boob under the car. I'm not sure if there are official jackpoints other than the ones shown in the manual but anything subframe related should be fine.

I still use the jack stands on the pinch points without damaging anything.

I use the rear diff to lift up the back and subframe in the front with a low profile aluminum jack
