    OEM Plus Wheels?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I see a set of 18" for the S4 that I like on ebay for ~ $400 + $100 shipping - pretty typical pricing for aftermarket. The concern I have is not so much finish or cracking (although those attributes are obviously important), but rather them being able to be balanced properly and not exhibit a vibration.

Anyone have any experience with wheels purchased from OEM Plus?

    Thanks!

I think as long as they're not bent or anything, you shouldn't have any issues with getting them balanced correctly.

I've heard more than a few reports from shops that have been unable to balance out some of the cheap reps. $400-set is pretty bottom of the barrel, that puts WS cost at what $25-40 per wheel?

Check out the Alzor wheels at ECS tuning. I have a set of their rotor reps for winter and they balanced up fine and I've heard of other good experiences with the Alzor wheels. Most of their models are around $500/set or so.

Additionally, ECS has great CS so if you did have an issue with the wheel I'm sure they'd be quick to take care of it for you.

The finish is pretty weak, don't expect barrels to be painted, and heavy as f@ck. Otherwise, not bad considering the price.

I've had decent experience so far with my Alzor 18" peeler replicas from ECS. The finish isn't spectacular and there are some obvious issues with the casting quality insofar as roughness on the edges/corners of the spokes, but for the $500 spent and no apparent bends or cracks to report after 1.5 winters of use, I'm a happy camper.

For what it's worth OEM Wheels plus isn't bad. I've ordered from them in the past. The wheels are what you expect for the price, though I was surprised they were actually stamped with the JWL cert logo and were lighter than stock. The finish was just OK though...fine from 2 feet, a bit uneven up close.

Thanks for the feedback - I was actually looking at their "stock" looking 18" wheels, where I'm probably one of two people on this forum that prefer the look of those over peelers & also 18" over 19" (I have the peelers right now). I can find OEM 18" for ~ $250/ea, or sometimes ~ $850 - $950 for a set of 4. I'm thinking I might as well go factory wheels rather than trying to save 4 - 500 dollars.

I have been "running" a set of their 18" Peeler reps for my snows. They balanced out perfectly and no issues at all after ~5k hard miles. Not sure about other finishes, but their "matte gunmetal" looks pretty good to me, and seems to be holding up well.
