How to input destination in Nav while in drive?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Tried searches but unsuccessful getting an answer to this but a lot of info on VIM mod.

I have had other cars that allowed inputting destinations while driving (i had passenger do this).
This feature was very useful when I needed to make changes.
Any way to do this in a 2014 S4 with MMI+?

    TIA.

Odd, mine allows it. I have 2014 Prestige with MMI/Navi. I haven't used it since December (use Waze on my phone exclusively), but I seem to remember my wife having to push a notification of safety or something before she could input the destination. I know this doesn't help, but just figure I'd share my 2014 doesn't do that in case it's a procedural thing.

Push the voice button on the steering wheel and speak "enter address"

That's what I do, safe and easy, and surprisingly accurate usually.

And does it recognize the address when you dictate it?

My voice must suck I guess!

I use the voice recognition almost exclusively for inputting addresses. Just have to talk loud and clear and it works for me 95% of the time.

With VCDS, you can raise the speed limit for entering navigation destinations up to 250km/h, but I find it a bit difficult to focus at that speed. It's inconvenient for those times you are doing 250 without quite knowing where you are going...

Lol! I find myself using Waze for directions more and more these days instead of the Nav. I have never tried to voice input though, going to have to give it a shot.

Mine does it from the factory. Just have to accept the warning that comes up then it allows it.

Or another option is to use the MMI connect app on your or your passengers phone. Enter/search the place/address there or pick it from your calendar or contacts, and send it to the nav. Then it only takes a few clicks to pull it up on the MMI and start navigation. This requires an active data connection in the car and that you've setup your myAudi account, though. I haven't used the rotary knob to enter an address in like forever. It's painfully slow that way.

Not to get off topic but I use Waze all the time (especially in VA when radar detectors aren't allowed ). Really didn't have use for the nav but wish I had the backup camera. Which I subscribed to the DIY retro fit backup camera
