Looking for some purchase advice as potential fellow B8 owner...

I'll get right to it. Im in the market for a used b8 s4. I will tell you I am also looking at a 135i with DCT. I am not a huge fan of the supercharger whine but I have learned quite a bit about the linear power delivery and also the reliability has been applauded.

Im not looking at the 335i because I think the 135i is more fun to drive and I also think the b8 is overall a better car. I dont need the 4 doors thats why the 135i is an option.

I would tune the b8 after buying it with a revo 1+ tune. They are very, very local to me. I wanted to get some insight on the guys that have tuned their b8's and what their experience has been. Is the DSG tune really necessary? Any cool kill stories that you were surprised with. Also, the bmw crowd tends to call the b8 heavy and even call it a "pig"..most likely overstated.

Any thoughts on the weight.... is it noticeable? I took a 2011 b8 with sports rear diff for a very, very underwhelming test drive and not in dynamic mode I should add. It was hard for me to get a grasp of the car. I will go back for another test drive with a different salesman because this guy was like a robot. Left here..right here.boom back to the dealership.

Anyone come from a 135i dct that was tuned or with an upgraded turbo? Basically anything you guys could add I would love. Juicy kill stories..track stories..tune preferences/reliability.. b8 vs b8.5..understeer problems.

Look forward to hearing from you all. thanks.

DSG tune necessary. don't care what anyone says on here.

Sounds like u already know what your looking at, power delivery in S4 is very linear in my opinion. Car is a bit heavy but the car handles light on its feet for what it is definitely.

Car does understeer slightly, but torque vectoring makes up for it VERY much so.

Im impressed with my car overall, and I'm currently a new owner but I'm very familiar with this platform tuning wise; car tuned rips and is a nice overall package. huge difference.

Go test drive another one and give her a go, screw Mr. robot and see what she's made of.

If you don't need 4 doors., why are you considering the S4 as opposed to the S5?

When I bought my S5 I had also considered the 335i, and went with the Audi because of (a) better interior, (b) the V8 (unfortunately no longer offered), and (c) quattro. Later my wife bought a 335i as her daily driver. I have to say that I much preferred my S5 over her 335i - better interior and oh, that V-8! In fairness though her car has the auto slush box whereas mine is manual, and that is a big factor in my preference. The new dual clutch automatics are a great improvement, and I know that they can shift faster than a human, but I still find them to be annoying.
