    2011 A5 2.0T Completely Dead

So my car just completely died on me. Won't take charge and won't even start even with a jump starter.

    Car only has 76k miles

No symptoms or anything at all. Even drove the car about 30 mins away from home. And then when I get back to it, pushed the key in, heard clicking sounds, then completely died. Called AAA and got it towed, they also scanned it and they said it's a bad alternator and bad battery.

Is that completely normal? It just suddenly happen without any symptoms or whatsoever?

Haven't scanned it with my vag-com yet but what am I looking at here?

    TIA!

Anddddd...this happened when I'm still on the process of replacing my b6 a4's headgasket

It's is not uncommon for a battery to die quickly at that age. I would start with a new battery, you are due for one anyway.

ok so I connected my car to another car to jump it.
Using the MMI display, it does say that battery is at max 100%....

light, radio, even a/c works except when you try to start it....3 clicking noise but won't start.
Car dies again right after I remove the jumper cables.

    so battery for sure?

Did you replace it or have it tested?

I agree with b-time. Just because it says it's ok on the meter doesn't mean it's a good battery. I went through a whole order deal with battery issues thinking it was the alternator for over a week. Ended up the alternator harness wire developing a huge short. Hopefully that's not your problem. Battery is easy to replace and minimal coding was needed when I did it myself.
