    Alzor Wheel Problem, any suggestions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi All, I bought the Alzor wheels for winter, snow keeps getting stuck inside the wheel throwing it out of balance causing a problem. I live in the Rockies which makes things worse. probably nothing can be done, anyone else have this problem and know of any solution?

One thing you can try... use a super-hydrophobic wax on the wheels to keep the snow from sticking and to help it shed when it does.

This issue is bound to happen. Assuming you bought one of the 5-spoke designs that ECS / Alzor offers, at least consider yourself lucky that there is plenty of access to get your hand / ice scraper / brush in there to knock the snow out. I have the 18" Alzor replicas of the stock 'peeler' wheels and this exact issue happened to me during the little blizzard we had here a couple weeks ago. I would recommend buying a small squeegee that fits between the spokes and dedicating it for wheel snow removal duty.
I like SportVier's suggestion and wonder how well it would work.

spray Sonax Polymer Netsheild in there. You wont' have any snow sticking then. You can get it at Detailers domain. Works great.

Pick up an 18" wooden dowel from Home Depot.

Haha definitely not the wheels fault. I've had this happen to factory wheels, usually from driving in deep snow or doing donuts/drifting in parking lots. As others said coating the inside can keep snow from sticking and eventually freezing which throws the wheel off balance at higher speeds.

Sounds like you drive sideways to much! Lol. That's the only time I have this issue. I agree with others, it's not the wheels fault!

What the hell does this have to do with Alzor wheels?! I'm starting a new thread, "my aftermarket gas tank uses to much fuel."

It has nothing to do with Alzor wheels, I just thought maybe there was some sort of problem with that particular wheel. I have lived in the rockies for 20+ years and this is my 5th Audi and I have never had this problem. Can you deal with that? Did I offend your super-Audi sensibilities?

It happens to us garage-less peasants when we get a lot of snow
