Audi A4 B8 Sound System Upgrade to B&O?

Im not sure if this topic has been covered before, there were some other forums that talked about a "sound system" but I don't want to go with an aftermarket upgrade.

So im looking to upgrade my Subwoofer (Rear deck) and Amplifier with B&O quality parts. Buy the amp used from an S4 and such and then buy the B&O subwoofer new.

Questions: Did anyone do this upgrade? Does the B&O Amp connect straight to the basic (Non B&O amp)? I really don't want to spend $600 bucks or so and then find out that it doesn't even hook up.

    Thanks.

Not possible without retrofitting the whole system. The B&O uses 14 speakers instead of 10 and the impedances are different. There's also a mic in the dome light for active volume control, which the ASS system doesn't have.

I wonder if it's possible to replace the OE sub with an aftermarket one (yes I know you said you didn't want to go that route) but in the stock location for a cleaner look. I've seen write ups for B&O sub replacement but never the standard system.

At least a few in the B&O Sub upgrade thread did it to non-B&O systems. It needs to be wired differently for the different impedance but can still be done. I have one in hand to add to my non-B&O once the weather gets nicer.

Skip B&O, its junk. Quite a few of us with the 2011 and older gutted that system.
See my build thread. Corey_Can is another who gutted and has a good build thread on it.

That sucks, i had in mind to keep the stock system and just do a better oem amp, in this case B&O amp. In my B5 S4 i upgraded the stock amp to an A8 D3 amp and it helped alot, much louder and cleaner sound.

Now im wondering if its possible to put the B&O sub into the basic sub? Just a little more bass.

There's really no point as the difference is minimal and the B&O sub is 8Ohm instead of 2Ohm in the ASS. Your best bet is to go for a nice, sensitive aftermarket sub in the stock location. Check the thread linked above, it's been discussed to death before.
