I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the ECS stage 1 tru float wave brake upgrade kit? Looking at things I might want to do in the coming year and would to hear from anyone who might have experience with these products and/or similar upgrades.

If you're going to spend that kind of money, you might as well spend a little more and step up to Stage 2: Q5 calipers. Stage 1 doesn't offer a tremendous improvement over the S4's setup. Stage 2 however, offers you much better stopping power because the Q5 calipers are a 4 piston setup which equates to better clamping force. That's the goal of a upgraded setup, better clamping force with little to no brake fade the longer and harder you brake.

I'm running their 2 piece rotors (not the true float)...
They are significantly lighter than OEM which just for that alone are worth the price. I don't actually like the wavy look unless it's a larger rotor which is why i didn't go with the full floating system.

Is there a place that sells this as a kit or do you have to source it yourself? Are the a direct fit?

Only real issue I have with the stock brakes are that they are super grabby under light pressure, especially when cold.

I have these ECS rotors, are lighter and better than stock. I use on track too, actually have heat problems but working on custom made vent system. For every day I recommend these ECS rotors. The steels lines are pretty good too, changes the pedal feeling, more feedback and better feel.

I did not like that either. plus you might as well paint your wheels black from the amount of brake dust. Akebono Euro Ceramic pads took care of both of those issues.

I have the ECS fully floating on my 5 but the 365mm with Pagid RS4-2 pads and they are much better than the stock RS5 discs and pads by quite some margin!! Very happy with this set up now after destroying 2 sets of stock RS5 discs and 1 set of the pathetic RS5 stock pad. I track btw.

    365 wont clear 18 inch hen ?

WHat I'm not liking with the stock brake are the mushy feel to them at higher speed when you need to brake quickly because your a bit too spirited for the traffic ahead of you lolll I know SS brake lines helps with that, but I think this feeling is more due to the floating design of the caliper. So the Q5 caliper could be a great way to FIX that problem ( pun intented lol).
