GIAC Stage 2

Having this done today and was hoping to get some feedback from people that have this tune. Is there a significant difference from running Stage 1 with a HFC? GIAC has zero information about Stage 2 on their website. I have an 034 HFC. Thanks

I would think that there is a stepped gain with your mods. Stage 1 < Stage 1 + HFC < Stage 2

However, I think the majority of the gain is with Stage 1 and the HFC combined as the HFC alone adds a good deal of performance.

I just emailed Alex@GIAC this morning asking about their website and why it doesn't show updated options for our cars. He said that they had an issue over the holidays and lost a lot of data. Supposedly they are working on it and a new website as well.

You could email him directly. He usually answers pretty quickly.

Crank. HP numbers from dynos are hard to compare though.

Looking further down the comments in that post, doesn't look like stage 2 for b8.5 is released yet.

When I was at AWE last summer they said (at the time) GIAC only had one tune for our cars and that since AWE in particular didn't sell an HFC that was the best tune they offered. Is this GIAC B8 Stage2 tune new or is this only for B8.5/E85 Stage 2?

Her car game is odd.Her cars aren't really special.Always has had Benz's, BMWs, Range Rovers, Volvos. She mostly drives the Benz.shes never really drove the Audi. I use the Benz for my volunteer work... She really doesn't drive much at all though....

I had a conversation with AWE last year and all of their testing is with the stock cat. I've asked GIAC many times and they tell me that there is absolutely a different file for stage 1 vs stage 2. When my tuner was chosing the options in their program, he commented on it too.

Everytime i have my tune removed and reinstalled they tell there is a stage 2 for my post facelift and it's suppose to raise the boost and delete the cell light

They did confirm that GIAC is working on updating their website. Stage 2 file is definitely different, as it was referenced on my receipt with the file name. Car is running really good since.

Yes with an 034 HFC. I don't know the numbers yet, maybe GIAC will have something when they update their site. If I get a dyno done I will let you know. Pretty sure blbroo has this setup with a Spulen HFC and had a dyno done.

What boost levels are people seeing with GIAC Stage 2 on a B8? I think we are rare on here but I thought I would ask.

I recently replaced a bad PCV valve and now I'm seeing a 19 psi spike and 14-15 psi to redline. What boost levels does the APR stage 2 see?

Really depends on the weather for me. When it's 70 or below, I see 24psi as a high, but in the summer, it maxes at 22. It trails off as rpms go up because the stock turbo can't push enough air.

I had some weak boost levels a few months ago, but kept digging for boost leaks and have all the power back now. Putting a K04 on this weekend and GIACs pump and race files next week. Cool note, GIAC give you full original purchase price as trade in on the K04 upgrade. So, if you spent $550 for your tune, that would be deducted from the upgrade cost.
