iPhone plus AMI cable plus Pandora/Spotify - Album Art?

Does anyone here use an iPhone with lightning jack (5 or newer) + AMI cord to play music? If so, can you tell me if Spotify or Pandora send the album art to the MMI? The AMI cable for newer iPhones with lightning is coming up around $100 when I search for it, so I would much rather find out from one of you guys before buying a useless cord.

Eventually i'm listening audiobooks from my iphone with lighting cable connected to oem USB port, located under the front armrest. I don't know what is spotify or pandora, can suppose it's apps =) But itunes sends album art to the MMI and it appears on the screen.
P.S. i can't remember exactly about that USB AMI port, was it additional paid option or it comes with basic config.

USB port is facelift only to my knowledge. iTunes definitely sends the album art image, I'm just wondering if spotify/pandora send it. Yes they are music streaming apps

I can confirm that when I hook up my usb cable from my iPhone 6 to my port located in the center console(2016 a6) that the album art does show up in the MMI when using Pandora. Hope this helps.

Thank you. Can anyone with pre-facelift AMI port, as we do not have USB ports, confirm this?
