Great commercial. The new R8 is really growing on me. I wasn't sure what to make of the "half" blade, but it looks good. Possibly the only remaining supercar to remain NA. Probably not for long.

Same here, the 2 pieces blade doesn't bother me anymore. I heard that the V8 twin turbo version is also coming but Audi is holding it for now because the performance of V8 turbo version will eclipse V10 version.

Damn, well done! Great ad. Rocketship for sure.

(Assuming it's at least the V10, R8, LOL)

From a purchasing standpoint I'm still sold on the Z06. R8 is too slow and too expensive. I don't care that it's AWD, I would never drive a vehicle like that as more than a weekender. Too expensive, too small, too eye catching... not a daily driver car.

Commercial makes me sad - I get that the car is awesome, but can't help but feel sorry for the Dad. Not sure how anyone who's had a family member with Alzheimer's would feel watching this, especially if they're not into cars.

I love the Z06 as well and think it's great bang for the buck, but I'd hardly call the new R8/Huracan slow. It's faster than a tuned S6/S7 and marginally slower than a tuned RS7. I think they all make great daily drivers if you don't need the extra space on a daily basis. I've had many cars over the years, none that I've driven as regularly as my R8

R8 V8 clocking in at 4.0 seconds to 60, starting at $118,000. They aren't even making a V8 for 2017 as far as I can tell. The R8 V10 latest model (non-Plus) 0-60 is 3.5sec according to Audi, starting at.. $163k. It's just insanely expensive, it should be sub-3 seconds at that price point. The v10 plus is $189k and runs 0-60 in 3.2s.

For comparison, Porsche 911 Turbo S, 0-60 in 2.8 sec, $188k. MASSIVE difference between the R8 and 911 when it comes to performance and capability, not to mention prestige, resale value, etc.. yet the Audi is only 25k cheaper (assuming non-Plus model), with 0 options? R8 needs to stop trying to hinder performance to sell more Porsches and either bump the R8 performance a notch or stop charging such exorbitant prices.

I read that on Car & Driver or some other review magazine. Those numbers are "corrected", as are all 0-60 magazine times. I would trust Audi's numbers. Still, C7 Z06 running 2.95 0-60... for $80k!

I've driven the Huracan for a week, it's 100% a sub 3s 0-60, hell even the older gen R8s run low 3s with a tune. The new R8 literally performs on par with the Huracan, there's a video of a side-by-side 1/4 mile pull somewhere on youtube. Not even sure why we are so fixated on 0-60 times as that relies heavily on launch control and traction. The real measure these days with these HP levels is 60-130

The 911 turbo is an entirely different car, it's just not as engaging as an R8 to drive. It's a great car with stellar numbers out of the box, but they are a dime a dozen. Now the 991 GT3, there's a totally different story. If we were all looking at cars purely from a dollar per hp perspective, we'd all own modded GTRs.... but they are ugly as sin and not a whole lot of fun to drive

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I'd rather have an R8 than a 911 turbo. My next car will be either a Huracan w/supecharger or a 991 GT3...
