Guys,
Ive got a B6 3.0 MT.
I just replaced the lower clutch pedal switch (the blue one that prevents the car from starting if the clutch pedal is not fully depressed). Out of the box, the plunger on the switch would spring return to the "out" position if I pushed it in with my finger, but installed the plunger has no spring action. I can pull the plunger out and push it in with my fingers, but it doesn't spring return to the "out" position as I expected.
In my search for info on this topic, I saw some conflicting info on whether the plunger should be pushed in when installing the switch. When I put the switch in, the plunger was in the "out" position. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary - the switch rotated to the final "end" position as expected.
Did I install the switch wrong or do I have a bad switch?
If I installed it wrong, how do I correct it? Can I rotate the switch out without damaging it?
FYI, with the switch installed as described above and with the electrical connector plugged into the switch, the car does start whether the clutch pedal is in or out.
Thanks.
