New owner, Nogaro S4 build.

Hi all I am the current owner of this car

My plan is to keep it 99% stock and reliable, my other car is a built mr2. It sounded like a turbo was blown and at the same time had a loud knock. No surprises here, well kind of. Is that a thrust bearing? an oil squirter or two!? Already have a new motor ready to reseal up and drop in.



The right side turbo is shot, but the turbine side was completely dry, oil feed pipe plugged up maybe? At the same time the left side turbo is in good shape still but has a ton of oil in the turbine side. Any idea why?

Bonus downpipe carnage, I can do better than that. Anyone have the flex pipe size needed?

I looked at that car when it first went up for sale by PO, That is some crazy carnage, at least the body is real clean, I believe the dp flex is 2.25.

I got new flywheel bolts from JHM which looked correct in their picture but I received different bolts, I havent taken my old bolts out yet but I think I recieved the wrong ones? I did a quick search and couldnt find anything.

Those look like they could be for tip torque converter. Definitely not flywheel bolts though. The web picture w blue loctite looks correct.

Saturday, first day on the road. H&R coils on the way. Today the coolant boiled over, hopefully only because I'm a complete idiot and didn't read up on bleeding the heater core.

Awesome to see that it's running again. Did you figure out the boiling over issue?

Not yet, I ordered a waterpump and will take it apart and check it out. I think the heater core is half clogged I get good heat but it is a major bitch to bleed. I need to swap out the fan controller as well.

Grab a 5 gal bucket and water pump from harbor freight. You can cycle cleaner through it before it clogs 100%

Just put a new water pump, tstat, reservoir tank and lower radiator hose o ring and the car now builds pressure. Fans still dont turn on when hot, disconnecting the switch and jumpering the pins turn the fans on low and high speed correctly, so I replaced the switch, still doesnt work... I have another connector from the junkyard harness Ill try to swap over. This car doesn't like me.
