Just wondering I saw that IE engineering Has some good numbers posted on their website. Anyone have an IE tune for their A6 3.0? I’m thinking of trying it with my 2012

Recently did Stage 1 on my A7. No dyno or track numbers, yet, although I may go to the strip tomorrow.

I went with them because of the a) flash at home b) ease of upgrading flashes c) remove speed limiter d) they have a functioning website

I'm sure it's comparable to most other Stage 1 tunes. Anything over stock is going to feel amazing.

I recommend buying directly from IE, though.

Yes, I'm happy with it, but as a previous E55 owner - need more.

Have been spending a lot of time researching, planning and debating stage 2. It's like...stage 2 or month long vacation abroad? 🤔

Hmm, E55 you say... I actually love the power on A6, I did have a M5 shortly fun car lol. I heard with stage 2 you can blow the cats? That’s why I felt an at home flash would be the safest other wise I was thinking I was going to go stage 2 dual Pully. But I don’t think it’s worth the risk and money

Yep, found out about the cats as I was shopping labor prices. Wanted to do dual pulley, fuel pump, throttle body and heat exchanger. That's the point that made me pause to think if this is a path I really want to go down. If I'm doing cats, I'm probably going to do an exhaust but it would have to be something with electronic valves. We're talking like $10k to run, what...low 11s?

You don't need the fuel pump upgrades if not running e40 so that would save $$$. I ran multiple 11.4 via dragy on 93 octane

I'm more concerned that the concensus is test pipes are required because of the heat.

With test pipes i definitely feel more eagerness in the throttle response. It more like I'm being pulled viciously. kind of has a mind of its own

Just a note for anyone going test pipes (even if your cats fail), I haven’t seen more than one person on the B8 S4 who actually likes the sound of their exhaust with test pipes. Raspy and drone.

And they stink like nothing I’ve ever smelled before and I had a catless FC RX-7 TII.

I installed HFCs in the down pipes before settling on real cats. With the stock “downpipes back” it still didn’t sound good.

Just throwing that out there in case you guys don’t visit the B8 S4 forum for 3.0T stuff.

That sounds great. I don’t have test pipes but when the cats go I’ll probably go that route

I just had mine dyno'd today actually. I went 2 weeks ago for a baseline, completely stock, and got 286hp and 306tq. I since did dual pulley, heat exchanger, new iridium plugs 1 temp colder, and the IE tune for dual pulley for 93oct.
I'm sure the oe exh is restricting it some but not that much, today was 86* and 42% humidity typical FL weather, and it only came out to have 400hp and 412tq.

Maybe this Dyno, mustang md-awd500, is a reality Dyno not a giving type, but I'm going to debate exhaust now and then go back for another run at some point.

Not sure where you see 395 at but they claim 453hp and 469tq for my setup.

Sorry, but you are wrong. And it's actually only 388 at the wheels for your setup. It's 395 if you have the throttle body. To top it off, you were using a Mustang Dyno which is known to give lower numbers than others.

Yeah, I'd say that this tune has over delivered for you. So, congrats because I think it's pretty badass and makes me look forward to my upcoming mods.

Thanks, and it was a night/day difference obviously. I left my driveway not expecting first gear to be so touchy but it was eye opening lol.

I will say I contacted IE about the tune after I did stage 2,since the dual pulley option wasn't listed when I flashed, and they were quick to reply and got me straightened out quick. So they are on top of their game if you have any issues.

You planning to do the HPFP so you can do the E40 blend?

Overall I like it, but it does bring the thought of doing a TCU tune at some point.
As for the s4 guys, not sure what they have issues with, must be car/generation specific?, but I haven't had problems so that's all I can speak of.

I never had plans on going e40, it's my daily so I need to keep the fueling as normal as possible.

Got my TCU tune done yesterday. So much nicer to have linear power past 7k. And now that I'm thinking about it, your max HP may have been higher if you had the TCU done since you're shifting at stock.

The S4 guys are having a terrible tranny bump from launching it.

I'm getting conflicting info from various shops. Does the trans need to be removed/moved to install test pipes on any C7s? One shop said only on the B8, but another said both because it's the same engine.

I think the engine needs to be lifted slightly. I’ve never heard of the trans having to be moved.

The reason why most shops mess with the tranny is if youre looking head on at your car, the left stock cat is incredibly difficult to get out. The trans can be slightly moved to allow a slightly easier access to the bolts. Once you have them in you can get to them easy.
