Still like your Q3? Recommend it?

I'm looking at purchasing a Q3 for myself, not my wife.... I currently drive a Golf R, but need a little more room in case I have to pick up the kids. For those of you that have had a Q3 for a little while, what do think? Thanks!

My GF has one, it's a great car for the money. Definitely not as quick as your R but it is surprisingly nimble and can fit a lot in the interior.

Had one for a loaner. Agree that it is a good value, plenty of room but won't be as fun or engaging to drive as your Golf.

I just got my wife a new 16 Q3. She loves it. Her previous car was a 2010 A4 prem plus that was totaled last month by someone else. I've driven it a few times and it has a nice ride and handles well. We still miss the A4 but she likes the features of the Q3. My ride is a 15 S4 6mt with the sport diff, so once in a while its nice to drive her car. I just wish it had a little more power but I am hard to please considering what my daily driver is. Now if they would just bring the RSQ3 to the states, that one is a beast!

Apr stage 1 flash will take care of that.

My wife still loves hers after a year. Time flies when your wife is happy! Few updates this past week.
front and rear puddle lights.

debadged, and vintage tag frame.

and HOEN endurance h11 lamp replacement for the fogs.

Now if I could delete those orange markers, I think it would look great.

I think its a great vehicle, good when theres a couple inches of snow on the ground. i have a 2015 Prestige version. Wish it had a lil power though

I love my Q3. The power is not a problem with Stage 1 (Revo, MTM or Apr) you will probably get a similar sensation that you had with your Golf...and of course you can always go higher just as I did. Check my intro post:

About the space I'm not quite sure if it's the best for kids since my son is one year old and the chairs really need plenty of space so the co-pilot front seat becomes really tight.

If they don't use chairs or baby seats then it would probably work.

Picked up a 2016 plus for my wife as our first child came 30 days early. Needed more of a mom mobile as the typical van option was out of the question. Coming from Porsche, VW, and this is our 4th Audi, the Q3 seemed perfect, and is. The 13 A4, plus was a bit big for us, although loved the car aside from that. Going from that to the Q3 definitely took some adjusting, miss the B&O, suspension, trani, but love the 5th door on the Q3, also love that it fits in my garage better. Yes there is a tad way more body roll and stage 1 will certainly satisfy my wife's craving for the loss of power and gearing. Since the lifestyle change, we really couldn't be happier with our Q3. I know this is perhaps a bad analogy, but the Q3 makes my wife feel like she is in her old MKIII Jetta but higher.
Looking forward to stage 1, and H&R rear sway for starters...

Wife loves it, I like it well enough. Been no issues at all, very solid build and looks pretty good also on teh 19's.

Turn the lights off with Vag-Com and wrap the orange in white vinyl. Problem solved.

Ha -same here.
Just turned a year & while it has some minuses (no Homelink & memory seats). It's a nice little runabout x-over. And very stylish. Just what the Mrs. ordered. :)

It's funny everyone's bought theirs for the wifeys) So did I! Got A Cortina white Prestige/ S line package. I do plan on keeping the car for a long time- pleasure to drive, excellent quality and build and premium materials. Blast of a car! Wish it came with paddle shifters though

Can someone in here help me out. Looking at a Q3 for the wife but don't think the dealer would been keen on bringing our 100+ lb Rottie to see if he fits. Anyone have a big dog? Can one fit in the back with the seats up? Obviously seats down is a non-issue.

I drove the Q3 as a loaner car today and I have to say I'm not too impressed. The engine sounds rough. Its not particulary quick. The seating position was not great (relative to pedals, steering wheel). The radio controls are odd. I drive a B8 A4 and I've found the B9 A4, A3 sedan, and Q5 to be very nice vehicles. I've never driven the Tiguan but it seems like you can really feel the VW in this Audi. I think it's pretty good, but I think the A3 is such a great car that I was expecting more out of Audi's entry level SUV.

Update: My wife drove the Q3 for a day and she loves it. What is it with wives loving this car? It's starting to grow on me too.

I test drove the X1 versus the Q3 and definitely liked the former more. More spacious, better handling and felt quicker. I ended up with the Q5 but between the X1 and the Q3, I would have chosen the X1.

I agree. Since the X1 was new for 2016 the engine, transmission, in car tech, performance and fuel economy are more current. The Q3 is very nice but theses areas are in need of updating.
