No more rear view carmera kit for the b7's any more?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Talked with someone at ecstuning talk looking to purchase the conversation kit for my Rs4 thinking how sick this owuld be to have a rear camera when backing up but its been discontinued. Always fear that on youngest is some how going to following my out side the house and run behind the car. Anyway if anyone knows of an "easy" solution in how to install a back up camera to use the stock head unit i'm all ears. Thanks!

I thought I saw someone configure one to their RSNE.

Or is that what you meant?

I'm not following what exactly has been discontinued, ecstuning backup camera kit or camera itself?
I doubt it's a camera itself, Audi would not discontinue such part and it's not that old to be discontinued. If it's ecstuning kit itself, then you could just source out parts yourself and piece it together.

I also saw that ECS had discontinued the bundle so I went ahead and bought all the parts separately. Everything was readily available (I have all the part numbers if anyone is interested) but I must admit that it is a bit of a bear to install on a B7. I must also admit that I made pretty much every mistake you can make including:

    1) trying to get the new hood latch assembly installed on the trunk lid with the camera installed - MUCH easier to slide the camera in after the latch is installed
    2) trying to string a GPS extension wire from the sharkfin to the radio - should have dropped it to the floor rather than fishing it under the headliner
    3) getting the dealer to provide me with the PIN code for my new (old) RNS-E without testing it with VCSD first - "K" line on the adapter was wired incorrectly so I ended up having to make 2 trips to the dealer after fixing it
    4) scanned instead of read the Kufatec wiring guide and inadvertently connected the reverse signal from C2 to pin 6 on the video box. Couldn't figure out why reverse only worked in TV mode and the Kufatec guide specifically called out pin 6 right under where it called out C2.... duh, pin 6 is for the RNS-D, on the left side of the page it clearly says that the wire connects to pin 3
    4) trying to do the software fix so that I could use my 2015/2016 maps - got the "insert NAV DVD" message and didn't realize until the 3rd try that if I ignored it it would initialize the CD after a minute and load my "fixed" 0200 sw

In retrospect, I would probably do it again but could probably cut a full day off the installation time. Works great now!

I know this is old, but do you have those part numbers. I don't care about integration into the stock headunit I'm going to upgrade that as well.
