(WA) Anyone interested in Hiking and/or Urban Exploring

After moving to Washington from Florida about two years ago (where the land is as flat as can be), I gathered an interest for exploring areas out by the mountains/cascades... mainly old ghost towns, abandoned mines, and other abandoned structures. Is anyone else interested in this sort of thing? Could be fun to take a drive out to the mountains and do a hike up a mountain or to a mine sometime!

inb4 he's luring people out to abandoned areas to murder them.

I'm interested, been living in Seattle for a few years but never explore such interesting areas. Shame on me.

Sounds like fun! If I had room in my schedule these days I would definitely join.

Last time I was up near Mazama, I found out about a ghost mining town up one of the FS roads near Goat Peak I believe. A couple other explorers I ran into on our way to what I think was Robinson pass / Meadows campground put me on to it. There are supposed to be some old buildings and vehicles. It would be worth looking into, though I don't know if I'd take anything with little ground clearance that far out. Those roads can get nasty and nobody wants to be stuck out in the backcountry cascades!

If I get enough people interested in this, we can plan far out enough to let people take time off and plan accordingly.

Up towards Stevens Pass there's a short hike that leads to a hot tub filled by a hot spring out in the middle of the woods. I dont remember how to get there, but Im sure you could find some info if you dig around a bit online.
