B8 Brethren! NEED YOUR HELP re; Front Fog Grille!

I thought I'd come over fr the B8 A4 Community and ask you all here for help.

I have a '10 B8 A4 'S Line' which means we share a lot of the same body/interior trim.

That said, I'm looking for a specific Passenger side/Right fog grille. Apparently, the Drivers side grille had an option to remove the back panel, thus 'opening up' the vents to improve air flow:


Mfr#: 8K087 681D 01c

The corresponding Passenger side however has a fixed backing. So, it does not have the option to open up the vents as pictured below the vented one:



I've been told that some B8 S4s have both fog grilles optioned to be able to open up the vents. I've tried looking up the part on GenuineAudiParts.com as well as ask my local Audi dealership with little results.

Any/all I info regarding this would be most appreciated!
I don't feel like dropping $400+ for an Osir Design CF fog grille set!

Well the drivers side vent is open due to there is a radiator behind there in the wheel well for additional cooling for the engine. It was deleted for the face lifts B8.5's

Depends on market car is sold in. My B8 S4 DSG had both the vents closed.

You could dremel it very carefully. sand and paint it flat black if needed afterward. I'm just thinking out loud in case your part is not offered or too expensive. Also, ebay?

My old 2012 S4 only had the driver side open due to the extra cooling. Passenger side was solid.

All the B8's that I've seen have the drivers grill open. I know in my 14 the extra radiator was deleted. Maybe with the 12's they deleted it early and thats y you saw one with a blocked drivers side grill.

Do you have a "how to" on this mod?
They look amazing. Much better than stock.
I did the same on my B7 S4 but it wasn't that difficult...
