OEM B8 A4 Downpipe Diameter

Hey guys,

So after searching through the internet, I have had no luck finding the diameter of the stock downpipe for a 2012 B8 A4 (Part No: 8K0253102B). Reason why I am asking is because I recently bought an APR exhaust system off a fellow AZ Member and installed it myself with ramps and a jack. After a few days I noticed some rattling under the car and got down to look underneath to inspect. I noticed that the exhaust sleeve that connects the OEM DP to the rest of the exhaust started to loosen up which in affect caused the exhaust to sit lower and is rattling on the support. I managed to slide back under the car and tighten it up. Another week goes by and the rattling is back . I would like to order another dual clamp exhaust sleeve (maybe stainless since I'm in the northeast) but just need to know the exact diameter. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am assuming I need something similar to this:

If I recall correctly, the rest of the exhaust after the downpipe is 2.5in. Unfortunately I'm not too sure about the actual downpipe.

You can always grab a string and wrap it around the pipe in question, then lay the string flat on a ruler to figure out the circumference of the exhaust tube. Once you have the circumference, you can divide by π (Pi : ~3.14) and then the number you are left with is the diameter.

Thanks for the help guys ! Yea I almost positive it's going to be anywhere from 2.5 inches to 2 and three quarters. Which means I'm going to need to order the 65mm one. And lol Adamazing

Just bumping this up so that if anyone searches this same topic again they have an answer. I decided to order the 65mm dual clamp exhaust sleeve and it fit perfectly today. Everything is all buttoned up and fits nice. MFG part no: 8L9253139A
