Here's the new heart and transplant in progress.
Started out as an engine with a failed OEM hydraulic tensioner, it needed A LOT of work, and A LOT of money. Went this route because I got the long block for $50, knowing it was going to need a pile of money to get going again.
*Stock displacement on this engine, (dirty one hanging from the picker will probably end up a stroker), stock pistons until they melt down.
*Eagle forged rods, Glyco and Kolbenschmidt bearings, Grant rings.
*Head has IE bronze valve guides, Rosten Performance springs, stock keepers and retainers, stainless Supertech exhaust valves with stock intake valves, new OEM CCT.
Opted for a manual timing belt tensioner, eliminating any timing weaknesses these engines have. Another thing to keep an eye on, but that's alright by me.
Went in to O'reillys and asked for the "gayest" paint they had to piss off the JDM horde here in Fargo, they gave me "Plum Crazy" lol Mopar guys are gonna want to kill me. Followed that up with some Mirage blue/purple to give it a bit of chameleon effect.
Got a fresh 2.8 tranny to throw in as well to help with the big turbo.
Still need FMIC (treadstone tr18t is what i'm eyeballing), fuel pump, AFPR, and injectors, as well as Maestro. Tried making a harness from scratch to support an AEM EMS 4, but that got to be too much of a headache, and too close to build completion, so I folded and am going the Maestro route.
More to follow!
