Audi downpipe

My service guy contacted me and told me audi released a downpipe for my car. Does anybody have any experience with it. Quicker spool? HP increase

News to me and that kind of thing hits the forums real dang quick. Case in point, the resonator delete piece. That was plastered everywhere when news broke.

Maybe he confused it with the Sound Enhancer Kit, but if there is a factory downpipe upgrade, I will definitely be interested.

The service guy that emailed me said Audi has released a down pipe for my vechile. The pipe cost 270 install 1.0 hrs. I responded by asking if I will get TD1 on the car and void the warranty he said no. He explained it's basically a pipe that removes the rear resonator right before the muffler. Thoughts??

Yeaahhhh your service guy is an idiot. That's not a down pipe. This is the resonator delete kit which many members have installed on their car already. There is a lengthy post on this topic if you are interested in installing the pipe.

wow another audi service person who doesn't know the cars they work on. I went to one of the local audi service places and talked to the main tech and he had no idea if the S3 or Q3 had a timing chain or timing belt, he didn't know what the operating temp for the car was. he was supposed to be the best in the country with diagnosing these cars. he had won audi's prestigious award for that too.

Marking up the resonator delete kit? Service guys are hilarious. Audi website sells it for $240, but the 1 hour labor is accurate.

My dealer originally told me $315 for the pipe which is when I just showed him the Audi catalog online showing the $240 price which they honored.
