    2016 Audi Q7 - Hong Kong

    Hi All,

Wife and I had our first child this past September so we decided to get a bigger baby mover. I preordered the Q7 in September 2015 and received it in the first week of January 2017. We were advised that we would receive the car sometime Mid December but there were some delays, Audi HK decided to loan me the previous model Q7 3.0T for a few days until the delivery of my new car. I appreciated this gesture because it also gave me a chance to compare the two cars.

In the first month of driving I did not drive in Dynamic and decided to keep the revs low. I usually drive in "Individual" with the selection of (Dynamic Steering / Suspension) (Auto - Engine). I am over 1500km now and have decided to push the car a little more. Still unsure about "Breaking the engine in" Oil change. (Guys please chime in your thoughts on this)

Overall impressions, you can really feel the difference in the weight drop of the car. The previous model 3.0T felt like a boat, I guess this newer model just feels like a faster boat = ). Car's smooth, drives well, and acceleration is also much improved to the previous model. For a 3.0T in Dynamic Mode or hard acceleration the sound of the engine is pretty nice. Car also does not feel so big especially on these narrow Hong Kong roads. Like most of you I was between the Volvo XC90 and this Q7, I was worried this SUV would just look like a fatter A6 Avant. The car looks much better in person opposed to the pictures, in the darker colors it still feels really masculine.

Technology on the car is great, very responsive, and the digital display is top notch, i just find it a bit distracting while driving since I keep adjusting displays from map to media, etc etc but thats my own problem.

Here's the breakdown of what I ordered

    2016 Audi Q7 45 TFSI Quattro (7-Seater)

    -Orca Black Metallic
    - S-Line Exterior Package
    - 20" Cast Aluminum 10-Spoke Star Design (F06) Wheels

    - LED Rear Lights

    INTERIOR
    -Standard Leather Seats
    -Black Leather Interior
    -Black Color Headlining
    -Virtual Cockpit

    -Panoramic Sun-Roof
    -Upper Inlay: Brushed Aluminum (Sono)

Great looking car. Thanks for the informative post. Can you put any option on the vehicle that you want? We are stuck with three different trim levels and can only option the air suspension on the highest trim level for example.

I have a Prestige Plus in Orca and black leather. I also drove the older model and agree the new Q7 is more agile and fun to drive.

When I ordered the car there was no info on the HK website. Our salesman just came with a catalog and let us choose our options and double checked if any was not possible.
I see now on the HK site there is a car configurator but without showing any package options like in the US (Premium and Premium Plus).

One big difference is the HK site offers the S-Line Package / S-Line Exterior Only options. It's a pity the US is not given this option, but I'm sure the S-Line, then Black Optics Package will follow shortly.

The directional turn signal indicators are also not allowed in HK, but in a few months we should be able to trick or reprogram that so I can have them.
