I'm figuring out which car I'm gonna get and I am between this two engines since they are the only ones that have a manual trans in my country

    All Over!

The 2.8 V6 12V is an old nail. Old technology, running a Hitachi ECU, MAF and engine RPM / crank sensors. Very little support, you're pretty much stuck with 174hp.

The 2.4 V6 30V is the better engine here. Less power (early ones 165hp, later 170hp with Bosch ME7.1) but nicer to drive. It will respond to any modifications that the bigger 2.8 V6 30V will take to.

I take it this is an Australian car?

I live in Brazil and most of the cars came imported from USA. is there a noticeable difference of consumption between them ?

The 12V is 400cc's bigger, the 30V is a newer design, so will be more fuel efficient.

The 2.4 30V was never offered in North America.
