Actuator thingy is not popping the latch. Mine does the same thing. Sometimes one press of the fob will open it but after that no dice.

The trunk popper I got from RockAuto was the wrong part. I should have ordered the other one. But as I recall I think it was out of stock... I will have to check again. Mine is the white one that has an odd shape. The one I ordered was black shaped like a rectangular box.

I've found that pretty consistently my trunk (hatch) will open only twice in a row. After that you must wait a minute or so and it will open just fine again..once or twice. I dismantled everything, lubed and adjusted etc.. and it seems like the solenoid or whatever is perfect but maybe old?
Oh well. Weird system, works okay with some odd limitations.

4B9962115C Its very easy.. Just remove trunk panel covering, unbolt 2 10mm nuts that hold lock assembly in place, unbolt actuator and install new one

Noob question here but how do you remove the liner? There are 2 visible plastic screws that acts as a bumper which doesnt seem to do anything when I turn it.

There's a screw behind the handle for the safety trunk release. I believe the rest are just clips around the edge of the liner that you just have to pull them out

I got all the clips off I think, but how does the handle and emergency latch come off? Seems like it's holding the lining in place.

You have to pry the cap (yellow?) off the handle. There is a screw under it that holds the handle on.

    Trunk lid lining removal:

Remove the plastic piece over the lock.
Pop the glow-in-the-dark plastic piece off the escape handle.
Remove the screw behind there and then the handle.
Remove the screw in the regular handle.
    Remove the emergency triangle.
There are 2 bolts in the emergency triangle holder. Remove them.
The trim is held on by 10 clips. Carefully start prying off at the edges.
