hello guys, im about to retrofit basic tpms to a preface a6c6, I need some information about what is different from high, I know 7k7/7k8 is widely used in the states so there will be a lot of info. I need to know:

Does the basic system show the tyre pressure in the MMI or it just controls the light on the dashboard?

    Any help is apreciated!

The basic system only controls the light on the dashboard. I don't think the C6 A6 got the MMI type pressure system where you could view the pressures. The early versions used regular sensors that only told you when you were below 35PSI and the facelift used the ABS sensor to detect a difference in rotation from that tire to determine if you had low pressure in a tire.

Personally i would go just without it. It adds more maintenance costs (not much but 200-500$ every couple years) and I can't see it being easy to retrofit.

thank you for your reply. I managed to dig some info - Its being referenced as "TPMS Systems without Wheel Position Recognition". It seems you are able to access all the sensors information from VCDS but i dont know if its possible to assign each sensor a wheel position. I`m retrofiting APS advanced and i have to disassemble the car for the cables and i thought its a good idea to add tpms basic, because i dont want to run senders to each fender. And i found the module and antenna for about $20, The wiring is another $20...
