A6 Avant full 2.7 swap

I have a 2000 A6 2.7T 6 speed car. I always wanted a wagon, I like the S6, but 4.2 to 2.7 swap is a pain and finding a cheap S6 is hard. I saw several A6 Avant's with 2.8 engines for dirt cheap. I wonder what year would be best to swap everything over. I mean entire engine harness dash harness if needed, transmission brakes and so on. Would engine harness be compatible with a 2.8 dash harness? I mean I am sure some of it has to be rewired. Anyone complete such a swap?

I looked at allroads, but the air suspension and jacked up ride just doesn't do it for me.

You can swap coils into an allroad pretty easily. The A6 actually has more ground clearance than an allroad in level 1 so if you were going to put coils on the A6 anyway then it wouldn't cost you any extra. Just something to think about.

If you want a wagon really bad ... get an automatic allroad with the 2.7t.

Then you can do a transmission swap.
