    Low Oil pressure

I bought myself an Audi A4 2002 3.0L Quattro V6 and everything is good with the engine except the oil pressure. It is not even a big problem for now, because for the 500 miles I did on the car, the Oil pressure red light comes only couple of times when I drive in Sport mode and when I step the gas pedal to the max... The guys who changed my oil, the filters, etc., and everything tried to find where exactly is the issue, but he said that it is maybe a valve in the oil pump (when I step it too much it has a problem with it) . They even tested the car with revving to 6k for an hour and he said the gauge for the oil pressure was showing normal results... And now I drive it and there is no warning for the oil pressure but I am afraid to step it to the max. But most of the time I drive the car quick and also I was driving with 120mph/180kmh on the highway and there was no problem with that... only it happened when I stepped it to the max and on Sport (I guess it happens only when I get to the redline... I know it is not so good for the engine to drive it like this, but it is like a sports car after all, I want to feel the power of that V6). I am saying again when I reach 5k, maybe 6k nothing happens.
So the guy said that I could change the oil pump + balanceshaft module for like 1000+ euros, but he said drive it like this for now and we will see after a month or two, maybe the oil needs to clean the engine or whatever, but I doubt it. What would you recommend me to do ? Has anyone have experienced the same problem? And also what do you think is exactly the problem ?
    Thanks a lot!

Connect an accurate mechanical gauge and get a real pressure reading so you know if the pressure is really low or not. The pressure sender is a know problem but you need to check the actual pressure before doing anything else.
