I recently got a great condition 2008 A6 Avant S line with the sport package and factory 19" wheels. Love the car, but had some rain recently and have a problem with the MMI now. After trips to the Stealership and looking around on line. I find out that the sunroof drains can break and leak onto the electronics in the back. Dealer wanted almost $4K to replace the Bose amp and fix the tubes. I took the amp out and cleaned up the circuit board where I found some crud on it. And now it works sometimes... My biggest question is. Does the MMI normally load up and work for other functions? (Back up camera, car settings etc?) when the amp is unplugged, or the amp alone is damaged? I'm thinking that maybe I have damage in the MMI brain? As it will work sometimes but it takes a while for it to load up... Also, is the MMI brain the unit located directly under the Bose amp? Hopefully someone else that has dealt with this issue can help out. I don't want to replace the amp unless I'm sure that it is the problem, as I said sometimes it works perfectly...

Thanks!
