    sluggish response

So I have had a bunch of issues and you guys are awesome at answering my problems. Anyways for maybe two to three years now I have had a sluggish responding car. It is sluggish in the sense that the car revs up pretty slow and even revs down with full open throttle. The revs will build up to 3k then drop to 2500 and then climb on up slowly. The car use to rev up pretty quick especially tunes but not anymore. Curious what it could be and I have yet to do a timing chain tensioner job I have been putting off since I’m pretty nervous about it still even after confirming and practicing on another head doing the job.

The car is a 2001 b5 a4 tiptronic quattro. with a stage 1 apr tune and forge slpitter bov/dv. i dont think any of my other mods would be affecting anything with this. Thanks for any assistance

Do you ever have issues with the engine dying?

no i never have issues with it dying i think i have a lower idle than normal at something a little under 800 rpms at warm idle. cold start it will be around 1200 rpm and come down, it is a little rattly at warm idle too.

Ok, the reason I was asking is my 1.8T would have loss of power, then die at idle once the engine was warmed up. The cause for this ended up being the crankshaft position sensor. Which read proper ohms and worked fine when cold, but failed after warming up.

Have you looked into idle air control valve? Not actually sure our 1.8s have one, but I recently replaced that on my jeep cause it had similar problems to yours.

in vag-com i can monitor and graph out a bunch of data and when i drive the car around or let it sit all the values are around what they should be except for the vvt tensioner, it shoots up to 24kw of advancement and then drops back to 0 after a half second or so. All my temps are good i think coolant air, the only temp or pressure i dont know for certain is my oil i cant figure how to log my oil temp or pressure if that is posible in vag-com

Could possibly have something to do with your MAF.
