One of the wires to the hood sensor is separated from the sensor. Can I strip them both and connect them directly to cancel out the sensor? My security is going off when I lock the car, upon locking the car the red light on the driver door flashes several times and then stay solid for a while and then goes back to flash.

I rigged up a convoluted fix for mine. Turns out the wires leaving the switch to the body of the sensor are laid in place in a soft resin. What the small pic I was able to pick and pluck until I got the conductor exposed, I send them both up and splice them back onto the sensor harness. I put the slightest dab of JB Weld on the hood latch and slid into place. It would have been easier to simply order the part but I needed something to do.
