    Bad N75 valve symptoms?

Just wanted to double check that I am looking at replacing the right part. I used to run about 23psi, and everything was fine. I recently started having issues with the boost, more pronounced during WOT. It would drop from 23 to 19, raise up to 22, then drop to 15, and then back up to 21/22. I decided to rip out all of the vacuum system a few days ago, and everything was successful there (no CEL). It boosted a little better, but still had the same issue.

Today I replaced all of the remaining vacuum lines with silicone hoses w/ new clamps. Again, it did better, but had the same issue, just less pronounced. I let it sit for an hour before I had to go pick up my fiance for something, and now she won't boost past 7-8psi.

Even back before I had issues like any of this, the turbo just wasn't kicking in like it should. The boost gauge would read about 15psi before I would even start to feel any boost kicking in.

I did a lot of reading up a lot on similar issues, and it all seems to point to the N75. Anyone else pick up the ECS N75 race valve? Or should I just stick to the OEM unit?

    Mod list:

    Silicone vacuum lines
    Silicone TIP
Forge 007 DV piped directly to the intake
    Vacuum cluster f&*k delete
    K&N drop in filter
    APR Stage 2
    3" to 2.5" downpipe

Hopefully this can help some others also, as it seems the threads are all scattered with symptoms, and it looks like I have all of them.

    Here we go again...

What made you think removing ripping out all of those vacuum lines would help the cause?

I never removed the PCV system. I know better than that. I even left the EGR in place. It is blocked off, but still there.

I had also studied the latter thread rather intensively before starting any removal.

Something is not routed correctly, there are one or more boost/vac leaks, or both. Doing a boost leak test never hurt.

I had read another thread where someone suggested to take off the hose going to the wastegate and drive it a little (cautiously). I tried it and it now feels like it is supposed to, though I found it odd that it still only boosted to 23 like that. I will have to order a new one tomorrow.

OP, sorry for our impatience with this topic. Just seems every time a vacuum "simplification" is done, more problems arise. Here's a thread from when I was having boost issues and it outlines troubleshooting the N75 along with the wastegate. Start reading from post #27. Click

No worries. I don't post unless I am stumped.

That is a fantastic thread. Pretty sure that is my issue. I will hook it back up and drive it again just to be certain.
