Door glass replacement

My car has some fairly deep scratches on my passenger side window. I want to replace it with a new piece from Audi. I'm just looking for any tips/tricks/guides anyone could throw my way?

On my b6 it was almost guaranteed that the clips would brake when removing the doorcard, is it a similar situation with the b8?

Does anyone know what a new glass will cost?

Didn't seem like there was an issue with the clips on my B8.5, not sure about the B8

Anyone have an idea on the labor cost to do a job like that?

call a glass place. any one that replcaes windshields should also do side glass. find a private place though, as safelite is good but always a touch more expensive.

To give u a rough idea, Safelite charged me $64 for labor, $10 for disposal and $25 Mobile fee to come over to my place.

And they had to take apart the door panel, etc?

Yes, door panel had to be removed, pretty simple job with the right tools. Another thing to note, you will have to reset your power window else it will keep lowering by itself lol, very easy task, nothing to worry about.

That glass is cheaper than I thought it would be! I want to change it my self, that way I can be sure everything goes back right and if any clips brake they are replaced and I hopefully won't end up with any rattles.

Is there no guide anywhere to removing the doorcard i.e where all the screws ect are hiding?
