Installation ?

okay so I just bought a setup for my 2015 Audi A4 . I do not have a navigation or dvd. I just have a Audi Concert radio. I have something that looks like MMI controls in the middle of the dash but from my understanding its not MMI, anyway.

I bought two items from Xcarlink

1. http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...3&cat=4&page=1 hopefully this is the right interface for my car.

2. http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...8&cat=4&page=2 To mirror my iphone.

I was wondering if anyone has done a install of this recently and has pictures or a how to guide. I know there is a thread up here with installation pictures and stuff for xcarlink, but the pics are no longer viewable.

I have never done any kind of car installation, so I could use all the help I can get. I not interested in installing a backup camera or dvd, just want to mirror the iphone.

Or better yet is there anyone from NJ on this forum that has done this or knows how to do these things, that has this Saturday free ? I would obviously pay the person. PM me if your interested.

i have that set up and unless you are good at car electrics, get a professional to install it. search on here for xcarlink plenty of pics and how too.

As Mina08 has stated, if you are handy, you can probably tackle the install yourself. Otherwise, find a reputable custom car stereo/auto electronics shop that can do it for you.

you will be removing the head unit including screen, most of the right handside panels of the dash including glove box, if you are not installing a reverse camera to the XCL unit then it be a bit easier, the XCL is designed to be placed in the original wiring loom.

So no one has ever had xcarlink installed in any shops here in jersey ? I would really like to take it to a shop which has done something like this before or at least used a xcarlink product so they know what they were doing

This goes back and forth ---- but this is how Audi Corporate has labeled in conversations I've had. It's also the way they get labeled on stickers.

1: MMI (Audi Concert). it is a Multi-Media Interface, because it still controls radio, satellite and phone functions when a phone is connected
2: MMI w/Nav. All of the above, plus navigation and Audi Connect on the new vehicles.
