    MMI Oil Accuracy

How accurate is the MMI oil gauge?
On my 2015 SQ5, it's been acting a little funny.

On Sunday, the low oil notification came on, so I put in 1/2 quart, drove it for about 30 miles with no problems. On Monday, I fire it up to go to work, and the low oil notification comes back again. I put in 1 full quart this time, then drive to work (about 45 miles).
All is good until I drive home from work Today, the low oil notification comes back on when I turn it on. I have not put anymore oil in it, and left the notification alone.
So far, I have put in 1.5 quarts of additional oil since Sunday, and driven about 150 miles in that time. I am afraid to put anymore in, because I do not want to overfill.

Anybody have any issues with the MMI oil accuracy?
Should I put in another quart of oil?

I do not see any leaks, and I am thinking there is no way I can burn 1.5 quarts in 150 miles.

    You should get a dipstick.

I know....it would solve this issue in a second.
I'm ordering one now, but little too late.

you mention it's a 2015, take it to the dealer and tell them what you mentioned in your first post and have them check the oil with their fancy expensive calibrated Audi dipstick. Might get peace of mind from that but you should be fine till your dipstick arrives. Was one of the first things I purchased. I love tech but sometimes simple is best.

Took it to the dealer this morning, he said this is the 3rd SQ5 they have seen recently with the same problem.
It will be about a week before they can troubleshoot it, so they gave me a Q5 TDI loaner. This thing is a torque monster!

Echo on the dipstick. I haven't found the MMI to be off, but it only reports what it hears, right? I'd bet a nickel it's an oil level sensor. I was on my third sensor when I sold my last GMC SUV - the first one failed at just over 5k miles. Glad to hear your dealer is taking care of you. Please keep us posted.
