Dark MMI

Hello, recently my MMI has been going bright/dark for no reason. I'm not sure whether it's the light sensor issue, but it's really dark most of the time. I also considered it's the backlight that's busted, but I'm not sure.

The MMI is now mostly all the time very dark, I can barely see what's written on it. It happens that sometimes I start the car, and the MMI is bright, but then fades soon enough.

I searched the forum, and found a couple of posts, but no solutions.

My MMI was very dim on my Audi during the day so I just went into the settings and adjusted it to be a higher brightness. Or if you already did that then possibly the screen is havent some problems.

You can swap out the back light. You need:
CCFL tube: 2.2 x 148mm Full Spectrum CC22148
End caps: SILICONE END jpojp 1 1.50 Size = 2.2mm

and a little bit of soldering experience.

Do you know exactly where to purchase these? Are they common ?

You should be able to find them at any well stocked electronics store that sells DIY computer hardware, or even ebay.
