Passenger side tilt malfunction

Hey all,

I tried to figure this one out but no success so I need to resort to you guys. Up until a few days ago, my passenger side mirror doesn't tilt anymore when I put my car in "Reverse". It used to do this until who knows what happened?!

Here is the funny thing... When I am in gear going forward and I place my mirror switch to the "Right position" it just tilts down...... My understanding is that it is suppose to tilt only when I am in reverse and the switch is placed on the "Right position". Since this happened, I can't even adjust my passenger side mirror as it just tilts down when I turn the knob to the right.

Any help would be appreciated!

It's been a while, but try this. I take it you have a memory function for your driver's seat.... Turn the ignition on, put the car in R and the mirror switch to the right mirror position. Then adjust the mirror to the desired position and hit the memory button in position 1, I think you have to hold it for a few seconds until it beeps. This should memorize the new saved position every time you reverse.

Mine stopped doing the same when I changed my mirrors to the power folding feature in the MMI when the car is off and locked.
However, both driver's and passenger's side mirrors originally would do the cant downwards when placed in reverse.
Have you run VCDS to see if there are any error codes?
