A long shot here, trying to find out what this non-sense wiring is

So i purchased an 01 allroad and was on the fence of flipping it. After some deep thought i decided id try and "restore" it back to OEM as close as possible as I like the color and the fact its an original 6 speed without a sunroof. Now, the car had the air suspension removed as it appears the shocks/air springs may have failed, or due to the fact that the control module which I opened up and found some sort of discharge on the board has failed.

So along with the airbag light, non working air suspension and a few other bits.. it needs some TLC. My main concern is, that after pulling the driver side trunk panel out I found some questionable non-oem looking wiring that was dangling inside. From prior research I have done on this subject it appears the suspension control module is responsible for the ESP as well (please correct me if i'm wrong. My ESP (or at least the button and indicator light) is still functioning. My question is- does any one recognize what this may be? The previous owner also included what appears to be a red electrical taped trailer harness as well.

I figured some one may know a tid bit about whats going on, so any help is appreciated as I am trying to pin down the wiring schematics in my bentley manual.

Probably trailer wiring, early allroads all came pre-wired. Though it looks like some aftermarket splicing has gone on too.

No sunroof? Flipping sweet. Post up a pic? NEVER seen an NA allroad without a sunroof.

NA? And sure deal i'll get one posted up in a little bit, the car seems pretty bare bones which seems to be a trend i have from my other audi's. like my 2 previous S4's this car also doesn't have heated seats.

    North America :)

It's really common to find later models all stripped out but not the earlier ones. Most had so many options that were essentially standard, HID, Bose, heated seats, sunroof definitely, etc.

Duh (facepalm). Yeah it has no sunroof, no HID though i'm wondering if the oem HID headlights will plug and play? of course it has the self leveling halogens, and is equipped with the Bose sound system. I didn't know the early Allroads came pre-wired for a trailer. I do plan on removing this wiring and if I do plan to tow anything with it in the future i'll look into a cleaner method. As for now i need to get rid of anything unknown return it to stock to see what i'm working with (should an electrical issue arise).
