Anyone else here use a dash cam? I got a cheap one off amazon as a gift, was wondering if any others are using them, and what the quality was like.

    I got this one: http://www.amazon.com/GS8000L-Travel...words=dash+cam

It came with a cheap SD card which I had to swap out because it wasn't recording anymore. Also the "battery" stopped charging but that actually worked out to my advantage since the car only turns on the cigarette lighter when started.

Luckily I haven't needed it for anything, but it has caught some wrecks and people were lucky to walk away from (t bones).

Blackvue owner here, no issues with it and I'm glad it's always recording. I caught a neighbor that hit my car and didn't leave a note last year, they fixed the damage after I called the cops.

I mounted my GoPro Hero 3 and ran a power cord down. Run it at 1080P @ 60FPS. Figure it was laying around and might as well. Doesn't have any of the motion detection capture stuff, it does do loop recording so I set it at 20 minutes and just let it ride :D I wish I had a rear facing cam though...

+1 for Blackvue. I have one that I'd sell if you're interested... worked great in my previous car but I became less paranoid and haven't gotten around to installing it in the new one.

What? Was your car parked and off? And it still recorded that? Is it always on?

I had the Blackvue DR400G and upgraded to Blackvue DR650G-2CH.
I must admit the quality is OK, when I compared it to my friends Street Guardian... I realized how crappy the blackvue quality is. The software is amazing and it has parking mode or else it would be for sale.

Get it from someone local that can support you. NOT Ebay or Amazon!

Blackvue 650 here, no complaints and it works well. Bought it after I got hit on the highway. Have caught a few moments since, but nothing extraordinary. Good investment, cause you never know...

Running a Mini 0803 with a supercap mod in front and a Mobius A lens in back. I wouldn't buy the mini again but the Mobius has been great and is super discrete. I liked it so much I added a front Mobius C lens to the wife's car.
