This totally makes sense. I believe that it is the way I would want to go, but the car is in Tennessee currently where there is not much of a market for Audi's at all. If it were just CPS and wheel bearing then I would be ok. But it's CPS (I think) wheel bearing, clutch, tires, and battery at least.

Other than that, I'm with Nate. You won't get much as a whole car. It'll sell to someone who will be fixing it and won't pay too much because they know what it'll cost to get running again. OR you'll sell it to someone who will be parting it out, and want to make some money on it.
So really the choice is up to you. Quick cash now or more cash over time (with more work).
The car is located in west Tennessee right now. I might be able to find someone to be able to do the parting out for me, but I am not sure. Do you have an estimate of about how much things might can go for on a partout? Do you think posting it up here would be worth the time? I would imagine whoever bought it would have to want it bad enough to come from out of state for it, as it has not very much market where it sits.

Partout would get some good money but it's time and requires space then you have to ditch the shell. Not really worth it for a stock car. 01 1.8tqm will be desireable for someone looking to do a full build so might be worth posting whole at 1K.
Thanks for the advice. I will probably try to find someone to sell it to.

It has some pretty bad dings and scratches from the previous owner (my brother in law does bodywork and was going to do it for me for just the cost of materials when I got it going good, but then the breakdown happened) who lived in NYC for a while. I wish I had time and money to fix it for a winter beater but it probably isn't worth it.

Sell it as its and disclose what is wrong.
If it were worth parting out, and I could get some actual decent money for the sum of the parts, I could either have a family member part it for me, or ship it up here as is and part it out myself. The problem with fixing it would be that I would spend money shipping it, more money fixing it, and then have a car that is worth less than the sum of those two when I finished. My family doesn't have the time or equipment to fix it themselves, but they should be able to do things like remove front bumper and take off the radiator or something like that if I could get money for anything (just an example).
