Post Help! Red Brake Light Constantly Flashing

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My 2004 A4 Avant quattro's 6MT red brake light has been flashing ever since i bought the car, previous owners said it was front brake pads, after i changed all 4 brakes pads and rotors it didn't turn off. Then i did some forum researching and people say my brake fluid is low, so i topped it off and still no change. Then i took it to a Volkswagen Audi mechanic and he couldn't solve it either. Some other forums say my battery is going but i dont think so it starts right up every time even in these cold winter mornings in NYC. ive been driving it for about 5 months now it has 170k miles and nothing bad as happened my braking feels fine even hard stops the car is okay, just recently drove it in the blizzard we just had and it was fine but its still constantly flashing all the time. could it be my brake fluid sensor??? Thanks

Just to confirm, this is what you are getting?
"Are you actually asking that question.. Just don't even post on my thread. why do I need to lie on an Audi forum about me fucking two bitches at once. (not literally) yes i did, you are late to the party.
and this thread has ran out of gas. I just wanted to tell people about my experience I had 2 nights ago and felt like sharing it with my fellow B6'ers. And I thank the people who didn't hate."

Was it scanned for codes? If there was none try sticking your finger in the reservoir and gently wiggle the strainer up. This might free up a stuck sensor float.

Was it scanned with VCDS or with a regular OBDII scanner? If it was a regular scanner it won't have access to the ABS module. I could almost guarantee with the brake light flashing there's codes stored in the ABS module.

There is most likely something wrong with the brake fluid level sensor/float circuit. The brake fluid level and the brake hydraulics are not monitored by the OBD II diagnostics, so there won't be any fault codes stored.

Never considered the level sensor, first I've heard of one going bad.
