    Bonnet/hood problem - HELP!!

    Gents

When cleaning my B6 S4, I decided to clean around the engine bay. When I went to close the bonnet/hood, it would not close properly. It is partially closed on the plastic catch that comes out of the grill. It will not close at all when I then press down on the bonnet/hood. The dashboard display is showing it as not being closed. At least it has not failed in the closed position!! Thank goodness for small mercies. Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you fix it? Any comments and suggestions would be much appreciated before it goes into the garage.

    Thanks

    James

Are you sure you haven't left anything in the engine bay or on the side fender rails. Even a piece of engine trim not installed properly will stop the bonnet from closing.

I had the same issue, I just jiggled the release cable a bit and then it closed fine.

You may have brushed the latch under the hood, causing it to (partially?) close. And since it's closed, the hood cant close. If so, pulling the hood release (as previously mentioned) should fix.
