    B8 2.0T Engine Misfire

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi all, having trouble with my A4. Here are the fault codes:

    P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire
    P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire
    P130A - Cylinder Disabling
    P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire

I changed the plugs and ignition packs in cylinder 1 and 3. Still has same problem. I noticed some oil on the threaded part of spark plug and engine consumes lots of oil. I'd say maybe about a quart every 800 miles or so. Any thoughts before I bring it to my local euro shop? I was searching and discovered maybe leaking from valve cover gasket? Thanks guys.

100,800. I bought it with 89k miles. I've never done it, not sure if it has been previously done. What's the process for that?

What year is it? based on the miles it would likely be a 2009 or 2010. Have you had any oil consumption tests done? If not, you could be up for a an engine rebuild with new pistons and rings. Chances are your car will need to be tested for it. As mentioned above, you likely have carbon build up causing the misfires which is a result of the massive oil consumption issue.

Took to my local euro shop. They did compression test. Cylinders 2,3 and 4 passed. Cylinder 1 failed with a compression of 15 PSI. They said engine needs to be rebuilt or swapped out for another. Isn't the B8.5 engines revised for this oil consumption issue? Will a B8.5 engine fit in my B8? I

Call an Audi dealer and tell them you want an oil consumption test done. You may be able to have a rebuild done for free. If they don't cooperate call other dealers. Read the oil consumption thread too. You don't need an active warranty for this.

Think this is still possible given the mileage? (100,800)

Yes mine was done out of warranty. There is no harm in trying, it could save you a ton of money. I wouldn't mention any of the compression testing you had done, just play dumb. Read the oil consumption thread.

Just curious, how many miles was on your car when they did yours? Also I'm worried about doing the oil consumption test because my car is misfiring and running on 3 cylinders. Idk if that's good to be driving like that. Last thing I want is to break down and have to be towed. I'm waiting for a call back from the service manager at my local Audi to discuss my problems.

Service manager at my local Audi said my car is indeed covered for this oil consumption test. However, I can't bring in my car running the way it is. Cylinder one is completely shot, compression of 15psi. He said the car can't have any other issues. Should I call back tomorrow and say I took it to get fixed at my local shop and give him the results? Show him receipt of the work they did. This sucks I wish I took it to Audi before this happened. I definitely would have failed the consumption test and I'd be getting a rebuilt motor. Now I may be SOL

I called multiple dealers today. Finally got one that's gonna try and help me get this resolved. My appointment is at 10am tomorrow morning. They are going to see if the car is safe enough to drive so they can do Phase 1 of the consumption test. If they are worried about the engine getting damaged more by driving it around to test oil consumption, they are going to diagnose my issue with the car. If the massive oil consumption is the reason why my car is in this condition, they are going straight to Audi America to see if they can do stage 2 at no cost. They said my miles might hurt me but it's worth the shot.

Same codes with same symptoms with you in two weeks ago. No any change even replaced ignition plugs and coils right away. My ride is 2013 A4 Premium plus APR stage 1 with 90k miles now and car extend warranty will be ended in July this year, so I dropped my car into dealer last week and pick up my car today. dealer advisor told me they replaced new manufactured long block for my car due to cylinder 1 piston is broken.
Lucky me, I just paid my deductible $250 for this new engine. You guys can read the repair details below,
