My car was just sitting there parked and some idiot hit me somehow in my driver side front fender. No note or anything!! Damage is not a lot but still a dent/creasing and deep scratches. Will definitely get it fixed asap. Looking for a reputable body shop that can get this like new. Any info would be much appreciated. I bought the car at Beiner Audi, and my insurance is Geico if it matters.

Also is it possible to get this to look showroom new or will the respray/blending process show no matter what?

Sorry to hear. My Geico policy has coverage where if something like this happens, I am still charged my deductible, but it doesn't change my rate. Bummer, but it could definitely be worse. If you have a good shop, you shouldn't be able to tell any work was done. I've actually refused pickup of my vehicle before and made the shop redo the work until it DID look showroom perfect again.

Did a bunch of research before picking a shop and have used them twice since. Great guys who are accommodating and do quality work. Worked with insurance on both occasions to ensure the necessary parts were replaced and only OEM parts were used. They know how to push back on insurance.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go with an Audi certified bodyshop thats around me. Now I need to get an estimate as my deductible is $1000. You guys think that the repair will be over $1000?

My car was hit two years ago and the cost of repairing my fender, replacing my front bumper, and painting was $4,600.00. OEM parts aren't cheap. I would get an estimate from a certified shop prior to submitting to insurance.

Sorry to hear. This sucks. Unfortunately, you will never have it returned to 100% perfect because the factory finish is applied in a sterile setting by computerized robotics. However, a quality shop will be able to make your car look very close to pre-loss condition.

There is a member on these B8 forums BarEaterB8 (in NY) that manages a Body shop in case you want to hit him up. Choosing a Certified Audi body shop is a keen idea because unfortunately, Insurance companies are looking to cut costs by purchasing used or aftermarket knock off parts. In California, you get to choose your shop. The Insurance companies often try to get you to go where they get special volume rates but that doesn't usually equate to the best quality work.
