    Clutch disengagement issues

I see all the SAC threads on here and I'm glad someone figured out that you can drill a hole to reset it lol. Here are my symthoms... At first the clutch would stick to the floor if I did a high rpm shift, wether in boost or not. I assumed my clutch master cylinder was going out as it's the only thing not new since replacing the clutch a few years back. Now the pedal doesn't stick to the floor but gets super stiff and won't disengage the clutch. Before I could pump the clutch up and get it to go into gear now only way to catch a gear was to turn the car over and as it was turning the car would slip into gear. I replaced the clutch master cylinder, and now can get every gear except reverse with the car off. I pretty sure I bled the system properly as I used a power bleeder and the jacked the rear of the car up and manual bled the system. Slave is three years old so maybe it's going bad but I'm not sure. Last bit of info, as I bled the clutch again today I can hear the clutch moving, but before I couldn't hear anything. Next step the slave? Or should I try resetting the sac? Also there's plenty of clamping power, clutch doesn't slip and the pedal is rock hard.

Jhm stage 3 or whatever it was called with the b7 pp.

Edit: I stand corrected it's their stage 4 clutch. The sac less one didn't exist at the time.

The whole purpose of the SAC is to ensure the pedal doesn't become more/less stiff as the clutch material wears away. As the clutch wears, the angle of the fingers change on the perssure plate, which changes the leverage when the throw out bearing presses down and engages the clutch. How many miles do you have on this JHM clutch?

I know it. Just think it's a stupid system. About 30k or less mostly highway as I use the car when I travel.

I have the same issue with my B5 which has the JHM stage 4 kit (B7 RS4 pressure plate and LWFW). I replaced the slave and bleed the system multiple times, with no positive results. I've come to the conclusion (along with consult from multiple people including JHM) that the SAC system has failed or failing. Nothing against the JHM clutch as I have the same setup on my B6 S4 and love it, but the B5 has been driven very hard. It's currently getting the JHM R-series setup installed this week.

That's funny my car is an imola avant as well. I'll try a new slave just to try. I'm starting to think the pressure plate has failed, the sac part of it anyways as I have a full pedal that gets stiffer if I shift at high rpms. There's another grand and a weekend. I may as well redo the turbos if I can't get ahold of a lift. I refuse to do the tranny pull on the ground. Engine pull isn't much harder.

My pedal got very stiff as my pressure plate bolts backed out slowly. But after 30K miles that's not going to be your issue. Sadly it does sounds like an issue with your sac. I can give you instructions where to drill a hole in your bell housing if you want to reset it for giggles. But if it happens once, it'll most likely happen again so you are probably better off installing a new clutch kit.

Send them! I may find a lift somewhere and just pull the tranny if it ends up being the sac. I've always just bled with a pressure bleeder and never had any issues. At high rpms the pedal is way to stuff for it to be a slave issue. If I pull the motor I'm a want to rebuild my turbos lol. Billet wheels are going in. Another $1300 or so.

Thanks for your help. Sorry we never got linked up when I was in jersey.

Yeah sorry the b5 gremlins were harsh this past year. Never had my car running very strong. I'll create a thread on where/how to reset the sac
