Background - I messed up the ABS module on my 2002 A4 1.8t manual trying to fix the "left front wheel speed sensor" connections. The car/VCDS can no longer communicate with the ABS module and I get this error:
18057 - Powertrain Data Bus
P1649 - 008 - Missing Message from ABS Controller
So I'm looking to buy a used ABS module from eBay and there are quite a few that match my part number 8E0614517A.
1. I'm guessing that if the module I buy is from say a V6 tiptronic, I'll need to re-code it. Is that right?
2. And if so, I'll first need to do the login, correct? But how would I know the correct login? Let's say the module came out of a V6 Tiptronic, I'd know most of the numbers, ie: 09x97:
0
9 = Audi A4
x: Brakes
2 = Brembo 17" (PR-1LJ)
3 = FN3 16" (PR-1LT/1LF)
4 = HP2 16" (PR-1LX)
4 = FNR 16" (PR-1LA/1LG)
5 = FN3 15" (PR-1LB/1LE)
6 = C54 (PR-1LZ)
9 = 6/8 Cyl. Gasoline
7 = Automatic (5HP19, 5HP24, AG4, AG5)
But how do I figure out the brake code for the module I buy? Can I attempt a login of 09297? and if that doesn't work, try 09397, then 09497, and keep re-trying until I'm able to login? then re-code it to 04275?
This is the info from my module before I killed it:
