AWM factory head bolts, how much can they handle?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Getting ready to do an engine overhaul that will eventually have a 6758 efr blowing through her. How much can the factory headbolts handle safely? If the factory bits can do the work I can save a little money which is always nice.

    Thanks

Have always read/been told 400whp for those.
I would personally do them if it's apart. Will always be people making more power for xxxxxxx miles with no issues but why chance it?

Fwiw, b6 guys have experienced head lift using the victor reinz gasket but not with the elring gasket. Butbsome havent. Its not the power, but the amount of boost.

That's the other thing, it's an aeb head one awm block. I do not believe I will break 400 awhp since it's my daily but I also don't wanna short myself either. I don't want to do this twice either.

Seerlah do you know anything else on the head lifts? The Victor is nitrile or butyl rubber coated gasket. I wonder if they have the proper roughness average finish (ra) for those gaskets. They require a much smoother finish on the head and they should always be lapped before using them on high hp builds.

I am probably going run 24 psi on pump 93.

I have personally held both gaskets in my hand and ran both. Currently running an elring one. After having held both, the elring seems more stout. Hard to explain unless you held both. But mike hood runs the victor reinz one on more power than any of us will ever make and never had an issue. Can't really call it. Just reposting experiences from myself and others.

I appreciate all advice and suggestions. I know cometic uses nitrile layer with shims like Victor reinz.
