Talking Louder turbo spool I do want

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok guys so I want to make my turbo spool louder and I was wondering if routing my "intake" to the wheel well will help me accomplish this. I seen some kits on ebay made by cx racing that basically just add pipe down to the well, my brother in law has a neon srt 4 and when he spools that thing roars. I have also read about the Swiss cheese mod but idk I'm pretty iffy on that one. Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys

exhaust & test pipe will help. You can remove the stock airbox all together, and clamp a 3" Cone filter onto your MAF. and add some strapping and ties to keep it rigid. I attached my stock headsheild in car also. Lots shy away from this, as stock airbox performs better, I did it soley for simplified under hood/more room. You hear turbo alot more.

Gut the stock box, Drop in dry flow filter, test pipe that matches exhaust size and turbo outlet size without steps or changes in size, exhaust, 380cc injectors, DV (Splitter for that woooOOSHH!) tune.

    DONE

Or get something that actually moves some air and doesn't whistle and you will have more of a turbo sound. the stock turbo is sad, they have hair dryers larger then our stock turbos.

Would a heat shield lower the spool sound? I'm not stock anymore. My next move is a bigger turbo

Stick a microphone by the turbo and pipe it through the stereo. Use a BOV, but know the design of the 1.8T for the A4 is best run in a closed loop, so you will trade off performance for noise.

Removing the belly pan will give you more engine noise and more turbo noise/bpv sound

Noob question, what's the difference between the basic GTRS option compared to the $95 Eliminator2871R Upgrade option? And does this kit really utilize the stock intake manifold or is it highly recommended to upgrade that?

They are both eliminator turbos, the rs spools up a little sooner, the 2871 has better top end. From what I gather in older posts is that there is not a whole lot of butt dyno noticeable difference.
They are designed to fit the stock exhaust manifold, but you really should run a higher flowing manifold, in the least bit, port the stock manifold.

They are called 'elmin' turbos because they eliminate the need for a manifold upgrade. No modification is required. The 71 uses a larger compressor wheel, which stuffed in the same GTRS housing is less efficient and less powerful compared to the GTRS.

Thank you! Just what I was looking for. My plans are to stick with Revo (I currently have their Stage 2+ file) and just upgrade the turbo, injectors, and maybe manifold. I'm not planning on maxing this turbo out or anything I'm just looking for an improvement over the K03/K04 turbo. This is my DD.
